Mulberry silk is a luxury material with a skin-friendly, breathable structure. A refined care routine helps preserve softness, shine, elasticity and the elegant fall of the fabric for years.
The goal is simple: clean gently, avoid aggressive friction, and let the fabric keep its natural character.
1. Hand wash with silk-friendly detergent
Wash in lukewarm water with a silk detergent or mild acidic cleanser. Avoid standard detergents, bleach and softener.
2. Never rub or scrub
Gently press the fabric through the water. Silk fibers behave similarly to hair: harsh friction weakens the surface and reduces shine.
3. Press moisture out carefully
Do not wring. Press out excess water, place the piece in a towel, then lay flat or hang in shade away from direct heat and sunlight.
4. Iron with low heat
Use a silk or wool setting. Best result comes when the fabric is still slightly damp. Low to medium steam is enough.
5. Keep machines and high heat away
Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Repeated mechanical stress can damage delicate silk structure and shorten the life of the garment.
