Silk takes around 4 years to decompose, has a low water and soil use and low CO2 footprint (compared to other fabrics). By purchasing silk, we support small family manufactures in many cases. On the other hand, clothing products made of synthetic fibers, which wear out easily and are replaced due to rapid changes in fashion, are difficult to recycle, they take 20-200 years to decompose, they are made using mineral soil, and the production of one kg of polyester uses 1900 liters of water.
